Mather Zine was a unique publication published by English as a New Language students at Mather High School in Chicago, Illinois (2005-2008). It required a tremendous amount of dedication from the students to make each issue happen. Besides the fancy covers that were done by various students who know Photoshop, the inside pages were all done using a simple desktop computer and Microsoft Word. I believe the version was Microsoft word 7! We did not know how to use many of the functions in Word for the first few issues and so we had to literally cut with actual scissors and paste with real glue. Sharpies were also utilized to beautify many of the pages.
Enjoy going back in time to 2005! That's when the magic began. Sadly, because of funding and various other reasons, Mather Zine's last issue was published in the Spring of 2008. An on-line version was attempted several times but never realized.
